During the summers, Hilan is on the Video Arts faculty at Usdan Center for the Creative and Performing Arts, where he teaches digital filmmaking to students in grades 5--12. In addition to learning camera and editing technique, students write, direct, and edit their own short films, based on aspects of classic films that are shown and discussed in class.
