Hilan Warshaw is a filmmaker and writer living in New York. Through his production company, Overtone Films LLC, he produces and directs independent projects as well as videos for organizations including Carnegie Hall, the League of American Orchestras, and the Drama League.
He produced, directed, and wrote the 2013 documentary Wagner's Jews, broadcast on WDR and Arte and screened at numerous US and international venues. He is currently making a new documentary, Lyric Suite, featuring Renée Fleming and the Emerson String Quartet.
He is also an experienced teacher, lecturer, and author of research articles on film and the arts. He has spoken at venues including Yale University, NYU, Hofstra University, and Barnard College, where he taught a course on Romanticism and Film in 2011.
