Hilan Warshaw is a New York-based filmmaker and writer. Through his production company, Overtone Films LLC, he produces and directs independent projects as well as videos for organizations including Carnegie Hall, the League of American Orchestras, and the Drama League.

He produced, directed, and wrote the 2013 documentary Wagner's Jews, broadcast on PBS/Channel Thirteen, WDR and Arte and screened at numerous US and international venues. He is currently making a new documentary, Lyric Suite: A Musical Love Story, featuring Renée Fleming and the Emerson String Quartet.

He is also an experienced teacher, lecturer, and author of research articles on film and the arts. He has taught film courses at Barnard College and Western Carolina University, and has been a lecturer and panelist at numerous venues including Yale University, NYU, Boston University, Hofstra University, the Barbican Centre (London), Goethe-Institut, and Boston Public Library.
